Jets and Chiefs Proving to be Best in the AFC

0

The New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs are proving to be absolutely brilliant versus the NFL betting spread. The Jets were on a bye this past week.

That’s going to make them even more difficult to bet against this Sunday while the Chiefs found a way to cover a 9 ½ point spread even though they were down 13 to 14 at halftime.

Who is in my AFC Bottom 5? Two teams from the AFC West that don’t play in either the city of Oakland or the city of Kansas City on a regular basis.

Let’s get to the AFC Top 5 and the AFC Bottom 5!

AFC Top 5 NFL

1.New York Jets 5-1 (5-1 ATS) – - CB Darrelle Revis is “100%” coming off of the bye week. They’re talking about LT as NFL MVP. QB Mark Sanchez hasn’t thrown a pick in I don’t know how long and the defense is still dynamite. They’re the best in the NFL, not just the AFC.

2.Kansas City Chiefs 4-2 (5-1 ATS) – - I was hesitant to lay 9 ½ points in the NFL betting sportsbook on the Chiefs versus the Jaguars this past Sunday. My boy Damon D wasn’t and, yep, he was right. The Chiefs dominated the Jags in the second half outscoring them 28 to 7 in a 42 to 20 victory.

3.Tennessee Titans 5-2 (5-2 ATS) – - Their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles was flat out strange. I mean, the Titans scored 27 points in the 4th quarter to destroy the 3-ponit line in a 37 to 19 victory. Tennessee is obviously for real but the AFC is loaded this season. So, Titans’ fans should temper their expectations some.

4.Pittsburgh Steelers 5-1 (4-2 ATS) – - I’m not sure what was going on in this game. It appeared at one point that the Steelers had it in the bag but then the Fins came storming back and the Steelers ended up winning 23 to 20 and covering a 2-point NFL betting spread. That was a lucky call on Big Ben’s fumble recovery. I’m going to leave it at that before I get angrier about it.

5.Miami Dolphins 3-3 (4-2 ATS) – - The Fins are pretty much a bad fumble call away from being 4 and 2 straight up and 5 and 1 ATS. Those are the breaks, right?

AFC Bottom 5 NFL sportsbook

1.Denver Broncos 2-5 (2-5 ATS) – - When you give up 59 points before the 4th quarter, you deserve to be fired as a defensive coordinator. When you do it in a home game, you…whatever. The 14 to 59 loss to Oakland at home this past Sunday was a travesty.

2.San Diego Chargers 2-5 (2-5 ATS) – - This is one hole the Chargers aren’t going to climb out of. The Chiefs are just too far ahead of them and the rest of the AFC is too tough. Once again SD decided to make a furious run in the 4th quarter to get within 3 points of a team. This time, SD scored 17 points in the 4th but still ended up losing 20 to 23 to the New England Patriots and their 30th ranked passing defense. The Chargers are simply NFL betting losers against the spread.

3.Buffalo Bills 0-6 (2-4 ATS) – - The Bills are on the verge of a victory. That 34 to 37 loss to Baltimore on the road this past Sunday was very encouraging. If you’re a fantasy football guy, I suggest you pick up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. The man has thrown for 969 yards and 11 touchdowns in 4 games.

4.Cincinnati Bengals 2-4 (2-4 ATS) – - This team, like San Diego, has no excuses. There’s just no reason why they should be 2 and 4 both straight up and against the NFL betting spread. I mean, you score 22 points in the 3rd quarter versus Atlanta for a 25 to 24 lead and then you give up 15 points to the Falcons in the 4th to end up losing 32 to 39. What’s wrong with you, Bungles?

5.Cleveland Browns 2-5 (3-4 ATS) – - That was awesome beating the Saints on the road 30 to 17, but it’s still only your 3rd cover this year, Cleveland, so I can’t drop you from this list, but if it makes you feel any better, New Orleans is on my bottom 5 NFC list.
