Today, we’re taking a look at the hottest teams that have been spoiling the party as unwanted guests in opposing homes. The MLB betting list for the best road teams is still littered with the best squads in the bigs.
1: San Diego Padres (33-25, +$1,569) – The Padres have taken a step back on the road in recent weeks, but there is no doubt whatsoever that they are here for the long run in the NL West. No one wants to step up and challenge them, and as long as they are playing consistent ball, they are going to be heading to the postseason.
2: Tampa Bay Rays (35-22, +$1,010) – Tampa Bay took a tiny step in the wrong direction as well since the last time we addressed the top road teams in the league, but that isn’t putting a damper on anything for the boys from the Trop. The Rays are still in good position in the AL Wild Card race, holding a comfortable lead, but the goal of winning the AL East is still there, as the Yankees are hot in their line of sight.
3: Cincinnati Reds (31-25, +$869) – Cincinnati might have just been swept at home by the Cardinals two weeks ago, but it has fired back and taken a huge stride to get back atop the NL Central. Much like San Diego, the Reds simply aren’t going anywhere until someone finds a way to take them out once and for all.
Trending Winners
1: Cleveland Indians (3-2, +$363) – Cleveland’s consistency on the road since the All-Star Break has been surprising, especially for a squad that’s been miserable all season long. The Tribe have gone 6-4 in their L/10 away from home, and when you’re consistently getting favorable +160 or higher lines on the road, it’s easy to produce winning numbers that way.
2: Philadelphia Phillies (4-1, +$322) – The Phils are going to need to be road warriors to take their show back to the playoffs. Time seems to be running out on them, though. Philly is still two-games back of the Braves in the NL East and it isn’t gaining ground in a hurry. Yes, it currently holds the NL Wild Card slot by a tenuous half game with a ton of teams right in its rearview mirror, but without more road weeks like this, that lead won’t last.
3: St. Louis Cardinals (4-1, +$322) – As we discussed before, St. Louis’ sweep at the Great American Ballpark should have put them ahead in the NL Central race for good… Not so fast, my friends! Losing at home to the Cubbies has thrown them right back into the mix. This is going to be a great race down the stretch, and the Cards are going to have to find a way to put up more road weeks like this one.
