The Diamondbacks remain the top ‘over’ team in the bigs, but who else should you be on when looking for high scorers?

We’ve got all the answers you need for ‘over’ MLB picks.

Season Standings

1: Arizona Diamondbacks (87-65-4) – Contrary to popular belief, the Diamondbacks aren’t ultimately going to fail to reach 100 ‘over’ games this year, but getting somewhere right around 90 is impressive, after all. Arizona has done it with a combination of some timely offense (177 HRs) and an abysmal pitching staff (4.84 ERA).

The D’Backs only got 78 quality starts this season, and a rotating bullpen really didn’t help matters any.

2: Chicago White Sox (80-69-6) – All of a sudden when the White Sox started losing, the runs started hitting the board. Manager Ozzie Guillen knows that he had a pitching staff good enough to win the AL Central this year, and a shot at around 87-88 wins is going to show that.

Still, a 4.10 ERA just wasn’t good enough this year, which left the Pale Hose as a middle of the pack team in that department.

3: Detroit Tigers (78-67-10) – When it was all said and done, the only Triple Crown category that Miguel Cabrera is destined to win this year is RBIs. He’ll get to 130 on the year with just four more, which will lead baseball.

Still, he sparked an offense that batted .271 as a team and averaged 4.70 runs per game, which is why the Tigers are ultimately going to finish this year as one of the best ‘over’ teams in the game.

Who’s Hot?

1: Houston Astros (6-1) – The ‘Stros fell off just a little bit at the end of the season, and it’s hard to blame anyone after the magical run right after the All-Star Break. The pitching staff is to really place the onus on, as that unit has given up at least six runs over the last four days… against the Nationals… and Pirates…

2: Pittsburgh Pirates (5-1) – The Pirates tried their darndest to stay away from the 100 loss mark, but they couldn’t do it. This has been a nice home stand though, as they went 7-2 and averaged 6.33 runs per game on that trip.

Needless to say, when you’re Pittsburgh and the oddsmakers know that you have averaged 3.61 runs per game on the season, numbers like that are going to be able to put a lot of games past the number.

3: New York Yankees (5-2) – Uh-oh. And this pitching staff is going to lead the Yanks into the playoffs? The unit went a stretch of four days where the only starting pitcher that really had a good start was Phil Hughes. Aside from that? The team allowed at least seven runs in all four games.
